Our promise
- Nothing that can be bought changes a battle, care, levels or anything else in the game.
- Nothing random is ever sold. Crates and keys are only ever earned by playing.
- Everything in the shop is shown exactly as you will get it, and you can try it on first.
- No countdowns, no "only today" and nothing that runs out. The shop is always the same.
- Buying only happens in the Android app, and a grown-up step comes first every time.
Looks you earn by playing
Most of the gear in Maatjie Arena is earned. Win battles to earn battle crates, and look after your pet when it needs you to earn care crates. Every crate comes with its own key, so there is nothing to buy to open one. The chance of every item is on the drop tables page, and an earned piece can come in its own slightly different shade, so yours may be one of a kind.

Reach care and growing-up goals. These stay with you and are never sold. The Pyjama Party set comes a piece at a time on your 2nd, 4th and 5th days of care, and any days count. Badges can also unlock the Flower Crown, the Hearts pattern, the Candy colour and three special arenas.

The shop
In the Android app, the shop sells looks for your pet, one piece at a time: the six sets below, Round Glasses, a Bow Tie, the Tufted look, the Sunny and Dusk colours and the Spots pattern. Each piece is bought once, stays yours, and shows Google Play's own price in your own currency before you decide.

The Supporter Pack
The Supporter Pack is one optional purchase for families who would like to help keep the game going. It is bought once, and everything in it is listed on its page in the app before anyone buys it:
- three gear sets: Mecha Ranger, Cyber Glider and Nova Champion;
- the Robo Lab room;
- a Supporter badge and a glowing frame for your picture.

Like everything else that can be bought, the Supporter Pack is just for looks. It never makes a pet stronger, faster or luckier.
How buying works
- A grown-up holds a button for a few seconds and answers a quick sum.
- The app shows exactly what is being bought.
- Google Play takes the payment. We never see card details.
If a purchase is refunded, its items are taken back. Deleting an account also gives up what was bought for it, and the deletion screen says so before anything is deleted.
Swapping with friends
Friends who have both added each other can swap gear, one item for another. Swaps never involve money, carry no messages and need a safety code that a grown-up sets up on both accounts. A newly received item waits 7 days before it can be swapped again.
